"All learners enthusiastically spoke of the leadership opportunities and enrichment offered to them and these are clearly strengths of the education offered at Wootton Park. " Kerry Hill, SMSC Verifier
At Wootton Park School, learning is developed beyond the classroom to enrich learners and develop the skills and qualities that are very much a pre-requisite for success in later life.
Our broad and innovative enrichment curriculum is a key part of our commitment to citizenship and our contribution to supporting community cohesion. For further details on enrichment activities, please contact the school office.
During the final months of last year, work was underway to get WPS accredited as a ‘Directly Licenced Centre’ to run the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The Duke of Ediburgh’s Award has been running for over seventy years and enables young people to push themselves, to gain new skills and to develop as rounded individuals through taking part in physical activity, volunteering, learning skills, and planning and executing an expedition. They receive awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels for their efforts.
We are excited that the Friends of Wootton Park School agreed to pay the Licence Fee for us, and that so many staff have agreed to volunteer their time to help us offer the Award.
