“Fantastic school, really impressed with Wootton Park. You’re doing a great job” – Andrea Leadsom MP.

Wootton Park School welcomed a visit today from Andrea Leadsom MP, Conservative Member of Parliament for South Northamptonshire, Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons.

During the visit, Andrea toured the school’s bespoke modular building and held a Q&A session with learners.

Dan Rosser, Principal, said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Andrea Leadsom MP to Wootton Park School today and show her what makes our school unique. Our learners prepared for the visit by preparing a Q&A session. It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to hear Andrea’s views on the education system, her passion for Northamptonshire, her position as an MP and what inspires her. The children asked thoughtful questions but finished with a light-hearted challenge to name as many Mr Men as possible! Andrea is clearly very proud of Northamptonshire and I know that this visit has inspired the children of Wootton Park School.

“It was a great opportunity to have Andrea Leadsom visit our school. It was interesting to hear her passion for the county, why she chose to enter politics and how great teachers, like ours at Wootton Park, have the ability to help children meet their full potential.  She answered all our questions and was keen to hear our views about education in Northampton.  As she told us, the future for Northamptonshire is incredibly bright, and I agree with her “

Dear Learner

To help you settle in and to get to know us, we would like to invite you to Wootton Park School on Monday 9th July from 9am to 3pm. You will spend the day becoming familiar with the school environment and taking part in a range of activities designed to give you an introduction to life in Year 7.

The day will also help you to build friendships with each other, and meet the staff before you start in September 2018.

  • Please arrive for 9am at the Sports Pavilion car park. Here you will be met by staff and learners, registered and enter the school site.
  • You should wear your normal primary school uniform. If the weather is hot, please do not forget your sun cream and school cap.
  • Bring with you a pen and some trainers to wear for the sporting activity.
  • If you have yet to return your registration paperwork this must be received before as it contains essential consent forms and medical information. Learners without the correct forms may not be allowed to join the day.
  • Learners are asked to bring a suitable packed lunch with them.
  • At the end of the day with us you will be escorted to the Sports Pavilion to be picked up by your parent(s)/carer(s) at 3pm. If you are walking home, your parent/carer will need to give permission.

We look forward to meeting you on Monday 9th July for what I am sure will be the start of a happy and successful time with us.

Kind regards

Mr Rosser
