In Reception, our curriculum will be based on the Department for Education’s Early Years Outcomes Framework, which will help teachers and parents to assess progress and report on young children’s growth across 7 key development areas. We will introduce basic number work and phonics with a view to all children achieving very well by the end of the year, with a good level of development.

We will monitor progress regularly from Reception in reading, numeracy and phonological development, and set termly and annual milestone targets from the first year in which children join the school. This will facilitate effective tracking and early intervention where needed.
